As the TJB writers discussed ideas for a fourth book, there was a general sense that we needed to give these characters a little breathing room after all they'd been through in the first three novels. We also knew any future book involving them would be set in post-9/11 NYC, and we didn't want to rush how we'd approach that. Our editor John thought a new location and new characters would be a good idea, and we agreed.
